About Yakki
Yakki is an online platform to search, compare and book unique outdoor experiences with certified professionals. Thanks to the direct contact with the host, that Yakki offers, you will always know and be able to decide exactly what it is that you are booking. Thanks to more than 800 listed activities from certified outdoor guides, instructors and local professionals, you will always find the right offer at Yakki.
Yakki allows you to find independent outdoor professionals and their unique experiences all over the world. Get in touch with the professional(s) directly. Simply search, compare and book online!
Just click on the Sign up button, at the top of the page. Create an account by filling out the required fields. From there, simply click on the “Create account” button at the bottom of the form.
Signing up to Yakki is free of charge for all guests. Yakki will however add a service fee + VAT, when a booking is made. Yakki's fee is 4% - 7%.
Enter the desired destination in the search field on the Yakki homepage and click on "Search". All experiences in this area will now be listed. You can filter this list according to your wishes.
Yakki offers a wide range of winter and summer experiences, adventures and voyages. On the search results page you can filter by different outdoor activities. In winter you will find ski lessons, freeride tours, snowboard lessons, ice climbings and much more. In summer you can enjoy exciting summer activities such as mountaineering, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, via ferrata, canyonig etc.
Our main focus at the moment is the alpine region Italy, Austria, Switzerland and France. But Yakki is open for experiences all over the world.
At the moment Yakki mainly supports English, Italian and German. We introduced in April 2020 Spanish and French as beta and are working on it to improve it like the other languages. You can switch between the languages using the language bar on the top right menu of the webpage.
Host qualifications
All hosts that are advertised on Yakki have achieved one or more qualifications from their respective national systems of the activities they are offering. Each host has completed numerous courses and modules for their licenses such as:
- Teaching and technical diplomas for skiing or snowboarding
- Membership of UIAGM/IFMGA (International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations)
Each host has to accept the terms, where they declare to be in possession of all certifications, licences and requirements, which are necessary to perform the activities they offer.
You can always contact a host to ask them more about their qualifications.
Request
You can post a general request on our official pinboard by clicking on Post request. Our hosts have access to your request and can send you an offer.
Yakki’s hosts have access to the pinboard with your requests. Also guests can view your request and join it to share pricing if you agree.
Click on Pinboard to view all future requests posted by our guests.
Hosts can reply to your request and send you a quote for the requested experience. If you allow, guests can get in touch with you to join your experience and share costs.
Booking
You can book your desired experience directly on Yakki. Choose your experience, select the period and the number of people, book it! For multi-day experiences, simply select the start day, the price is already cumulative for the duration. A chat system allows you to interact with the host. The money is charged only if the host accepts the booking. If the host refuses or does not take any action within 2 days, nothing is charged and the reservation is canceled.
New hosts are continually signing up to Yakki, we already have good coverage in many areas in Italy, Austria and Switzerland. If you cannot find a host or an experience, please contact us by email at hello@yakki.net and we will do our best to assist you in your search for a host and an experience.
It's likely the host has only recently registered on Yakki and therefore hasn't delivered any experiences via Yakki yet. It's important to note that missing reviews are no indication of the quality of the host's service, we would recommend sending the host a message if you have any concerns or would like to learn more about them.
The prices are shown on the experience. They can be either per person or per group. Hosts control their own pricing, so at their discretion they may increase the price depending on the number of participants. For more details you can contact the host.
An experience can last 1 hour, more hours or multiple days. The duration of an experience is specified in the listing details.
You can get in touch with the host directly if you have any questions about the experience prior to making a booking. To contact the host, just click on the "Contact" button on the hosts's profile.
On each host profile there is a "Contact" button, by clicking this button it allows you to talk to the host using the Yakki messaging system. Once an experience has been confirmed the hosts's phone number will become visible, although we recommend using the messaging system of Yakki for all communication.
Contact the host you have booked with through Yakki's messaging system and explain why you would like to move the experience and to what time. The host will then inform you if it is possible to change the start time.
There is a meeting point in the description of the experience. If you would like to meet somewhere else, you can arrange the meeting point with your chosen host by using the Yakki messaging system. We recommend agreeing this before you book your experience, but it can always be arranged at a later date. The host should be able to suggest somewhere that is convenient for you both.
Your host's phone number is only shown once a booking has been confirmed.
During certain weeks of the season hosts will be very busy and will therefore not show up during searches. Hosts are signing up all the time though, so please check again soon or send us your request at hello@yakki.net.
As soon as the host confirms your booking request, the booking is binding for you and the provider. Cancellation is always possible - but depending on your host's cancellation policy you may or may not receive a refund.
Please be aware that all booking requests become binding as soon as the host accepts them. We recommend that you wait for the host's answer before sending the next booking request.
Payments
For a booking to be confirmed, payment must have been made. To make a booking request you will be required to enter your card details and by clicking "Confirm payment" the request will go to the host. If the host accepts your booking request, your card will be debited for the full amount payable, if they decline then no charge is made. The funds are then held securely by our payments provider until the experience has taken place. The host is paid automatically about 7 days after the experience has taken place.
Visa, Mastercard, American Express
Yes - if you are a guest and make a booking through the site we add on a service fee of 7%, to the host's experience price.
If you have sent a booking request to a host, your credit card will not be charged until the Host accepts the booking request. If the Host refuses the booking, your card will not be charged.
Yakki uses Stripe for payment processing, who also hold booking funds securely, until the experiences have taken place.
No, experience prices are set in the currency of the country where the experience are due to take place. Bear in mind that if your account is in a different currency to the one you are due to pay with, then your provider or third party payment processor may charge a currency conversion fee.
Yes, the online data transfer is SSL-encrypted according to the highest security standard. The payment process is handled by a professional payment service provider. Yakki does not store any credit card data.
After sending a booking request
Our hosts usually react quickly to requests. However, they have a maximum of 48 hours to respond. If you have not received a response within 24 hours, please contact Yakki at hello@yakki.net and we will get in touch with the host.
As soon as the host has accepted your request, the booking becomes binding. Your credit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation email. If you have questions for the host, you can log in to your Yakki account and send him a message. The host's phone number will also become available to you once the booking is confirmed.
The host is probably already fully booked on this day and may have not had a chance to update the Yakki calendar yet. Please just try again with an alternative host and experience. Or send us an email at hello@yakki.net and we will do our best to find a solution.
If the host does not reply within 24 hours, please contact us directly at hello@yakki.net. We will get in touch with the host and, if necessary, help you find an alternative. After 48 hours, if a host has still not answered, the booking request will automatically expire and get declined - You will not be charged if this is the case.
Please confirm the meeting point with the host in advance and try to reach the host directly - the host's phone number will be available to you once a booking is accepted. Otherwise please contact Yakki immediately and we will do our best to help you.
Booking cancellation
Yes, you can do this. Cancellation requests must be submitted by email to admin@yakki.net and specifying the name of the Host, the Outdoor Experience, and the booking date in the subject. Cancellations communicated with other methods will not be considered valid.
Hosts choose their cancellation policies for each experience offered, they have a choice between flexible, moderate or strict. Their chosen cancellation policy is shown in the experience's details.
Reviews
Only guests that have had an experience with a host can leave a review, this ensures all the reviews are from real guests with first hand experience of the host's services, so can be trusted when you are trying to choose an experience or host.
After your experience you will receive an email reminding you to review your host. Simply click on the link provided in the email, and follow the steps described there.
If you have booked an experience via Yakki, you have the possibility to leave your host a review. Reviews help other guests to choose a host and they present themselves better with positive reviews. Your review should be based on your personal experience and not on general experiences with the website, other hosts or employees of Yakki. Reviews may not be made by the host himself or by persons associated with him/her professionally or privately. We reserve the right not to publish negative recommendations or those that violate our terms of use or guidelines.
No, once you have sent the review no changes can be made. If you still wish to change it please contact us at support@yakki.net.
Other - user account
If you've forgotten your password or are having trouble logging in to your Yakki account, click the "Forgot password" link on the sign in page. Enter the email address you use for Yakki, and you'll be emailed a link to reset your password.
To delete your account, please send us a short email to support@yakki.net. Of course, we would like to know what prompter you to make this decision.

Yes, we have carefully installed software to track down anyone who misuses the Yakki platform. Any user deemed to be a persistent offender will be suspended from using the system and can be legally fined.
HOST
Who
Outdoor guides, instructors and professionals that wish to sign up must have all the required paperwork to conform with national and local regulations. Hosts "self certify" that they have the correct qualifications and third party liability insurance when they sign up to Yakki. Yakki performs quality checks from time to time but is under no obligation and cannot be held liable to verify the eligibility of the hosts.
Yakki is a powerful marketing tool for outdoor professionals to increase their presence on the Internet and optimize their capacity. Yakki is already used by numerous hosts across Italy, Austria and Switzerland. Registration is free of charge.
Registration, creation of a profile and posting of experiences on Yakki is free of charge. Yakki works with a model where you only pay if you accept bookings and earn money with them.
Profile
Just click on the Sign up button, at the top of the page. Create an account by filling out the required fields. From there, simply click on the "Create account" button at the bottom of the form.
Send us at support@yakki.net copy of your ID card and professional certificates to verify your qualifications and activate your account as a host of experiences. Once active, you can create your Yakki profile within minutes.
No – we only charge a fee if you accept a booking. We take a 10% - 15% service fee, which is taken from the total amount you have charged for your experience.
You can edit your profile when logged in to your account. Click on your profile picture and click on "Settings". Once you have made any changes remember to click "Save information".
The ranking of search results is determined by the following factors, which you can influence:
- Completeness of profile and frequency of interaction
- Quality of your profile, description and pictures
- Uniqueness of the experiences
- Response time and cancellation of requests
- Guest reviews
In order to improve your position, you should update your experiences in a frequent manner, you should respond to requests as soon as possible, avoid cancellations of requests, improve descriptions for your profile and offers, upload high quality images and ask your guests for reviews.
Describe yourself and what you offer in as much detail as you can. Make your experiences as unique as possible. This will give your potential guest a good view on your expertise, who you are as a person and how you work. Do not forget to motivate your guests to leave a review on your profile after completing your experience(s) with them.
If you've forgotten your password or are having trouble logging in to your Yakki account, click the "Forgot password" link on the sign in page. Enter the email address you use for Yakki, and you'll be emailed a link to reset your password.
To change the email address you use for Yakki, simply log into your Yakki profile access your "Settings" section, and then the "Account" section. You can add and delete email addresses to your account.
To delete your Yakki account, please send us a message to support@yakki.net. Of course, we would like to know what prompted you to make this decision.
Experiences
Just click on the Post listing button, at the top of the page. Select the activity you want to promote, fill out the details and publish your listing. If you have any problems or questions, please do not hesitate to contact support@yakki.net, we will be happy to help you.
We have following listing types you can choose from:
- Experiences: one-day outdoor activities, that include guiding fee.
- Adventures: multi-day outdoor experiences, that include guiding fee and can include accommodation, meals, transportation.
- Voyages: worldwide experience travels, that include guiding fee and can include accommodation, meals, transportation.
You can promote experiences in the following categories:
- Snow: Skiing, Snowboard, Freeride & Freestyle, Ice climbing, Ski touring, Heliskiing, Snowshoeing, Cross country skiing, Snowkiting, Sleddog
- Land: Mountaineering, Rock climbing, Via ferrata, Hiking & Trekking, Bike & MTB, E-bike & E-MTB, Nordic Walking, Trail running, Caving, Roller skiing
- Water: Canyoning, Rafting, Sailing, Canoeing & Kayaking, Kitesurfing, Windsurfing, Surfing, Scuba diving, Snorkeling

No, currently Yakki only supports EUR as currency.
Yes, an updated calendar will have a positive impact on your Yakki ranking in the search results. It will also help to minimize declines of booking requests and thereby make guests happy.
You can post as many experiences as you want. We recommend to not post a single very generic experience, but many specific ones. This makes it easier for the guest of Yakki to choose exactly the experience they want to. Furthermore, it allows you to define different places for your experiences and increase your visibility.
Listings
It is advisable to choose a title that contains a geographical indication of the experience in order to make it easier to search by text.
The description should be specific for a single excursion and not too general. If they are similar activities but in different places it is advisable to create an experience for each place.
Yes, you can use Markdown language to highlight important parts or keywords. For example, the text inside the **bold** symbols will be displayed in bold. We do not recommend using uppercase letters only. The description of the Markdown language can be found above the detailed description field of the advertisement.

Markdown is a simple way to format text that looks great on any device. It doesn’t do anything fancy like change the font size, colour, or type — just the essentials, using keyboard symbols you already know.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Photos of the experience are very important to give visitors of Yakki a better understanding of what the activity consists of and the wonderful places they will discover. To increase this effect, it is necessary to upload high quality images above all.
Yes, in addition to the images you can add YouTube videos to your experience by inserting the link in the experience description. The video will be displayed immediately below it.
As far as the duration is concerned, the main field is the duration detail field. For multi-day experiences the total number of days should be indicated. For experiences of 1 day length it is necessary to indicate approximately the hours of the whole duration. It is also correct to use the experience category for single-day activities and the adventure category for multi-day activities. The indicated price refers to the whole duration.
It's always good to set an indicative meeting point so that Yakki's guests know where the likeliest meeting point is. Of course, the meeting point can also be arranged elsewhere once the guest contacts you.
The location on the map should be chosen near the start or meeting point as it is also the point where the experience is displayed on the map.
In the hashtag field you can enter additional search keywords. These are single terms that can help to categorise your listing. It can be a short summary of the experience expressed with the most important features - like a small summary. The fields are not mandatory.
Yes, you should translate your experiences to reach international customers! At the moment we help our hosts to translating your experiences into your spoken languages from and to Italian, German and English. To help us and publish your experiences earlier, you can do it too! Fill in the fields with the translation by clicking on "Show translation" or change the language of the site. We cannot translate the experiences in Spanish or French, but we would be very happy if you use this feature.
Yes, once you have completed the listing and it has been approved and published by Yakki you can promote your experiences through social media by clicking on the links at the bottom of the experiences!
Special Offers
Beside your listings, you can use the Special Offer feature to send a bookable offer to a specific guest. When chatting with a guest or replying to a guest's request, you can create a custom offer with the price, the period, the number of participants and the cancellation policy you agreed on. The guest sees the special offer in the conversation and has 24 hours to book it. This feature is very helpful when your listings doesn't satisfy the needs of a guest or if you want to reply to a particular request.
This is a step by step guide on how to create a special offer:
- Contact a guest from the request pinboard or reply to a guest's direct message.
- Near the "Send reply" button there is the "Send Special Offer“ button. By pressing it, the form to create the special offer opens.
- In the dropdown field “Listing” you can select whether the special offer and its booking is associated to one of your listings or not. This is important if you want that the guest’s review after the activity is attached to your listing or only to your profile. After filling out the remaining fields (i.e. start and end dates, number of guests, cancellation policy and price), you can click on "Send Special Offer" to send the offer to the guest.
- You will then see at the top of the conversation the Special Offer that you sent to the guest. A countdown will tell you when the offer expires and a "Delete" button will allow you to delete it. Off course, you can still continue chatting with the guest.
- The guest will be notified and can view the Special Offer in your conversation. He has now 24 hours to book and pay the offer by clicking on the "Book now" button, before it expires.
- If the guest decides to book your special offer, the general booking process starts. You will be notified about the booking and you can accept or reject it. By clicking on "Accept request" the booking is confirmed by both sides and will be displayed together with any other booking in the table Settings > Transactions.
The guest has 24 hours to book the specialoffer. After that, the offer will expire and the guest can't book it anymore. To send a new offer, simply delete the old one and create a new one. You can only send one special offer per conversation.
If you want to delete a special offer before it has been booked or after it has expired, just press the "Delete" button on it.
If a guest decides to book and pay the special offer, the general booking process sets in (see Management of bookins). This means, that you will get a booking request with the details of the special offer and you can accept or decline it.
If the button to send a special offer is not working, you should configure your payment preferences in the profile settings.
Management of bookings
If you receive a booking request, please accept or decline it as soon as you can. You can accept (or decline) a booking request by logging in to your Yakki account and navigating to "Inbox". If you need any more details on the bookings, please send a message back to the guest directly.
You should aim to respond to requests as soon as possible but please be aware that a booking request will expire and get declined automatically after 48 hours.
Please make sure you have communicated all the necessary details to the guest (meeting point, your contact information etc.). After the successful completion of your experience motivate your guests to leave a positive review via Yakki. The more positive reviews you receive, the more attractive your Yakki profile becomes to new guests.
Your guest's phone number is only shown once a booking has been confirmed.
We encourage hosts to leave guests feedback, tips and advice after the lesson. You can do this by clicking on the details of the booking. You'll then see a "Review" tab.
Payment
Hosts are paid 7 days after the experience has been completed. The funds are transferred into the bank account of their choice.
Yes, you will get an invoice by email.
In order to ensure a fast handling of payments, it is crucial that you complete the section "Payment details" immediately. In order to be able to transfer money to you, we urgently need your bank account details.
Cancellation
Yes, however Yakki may apply penalties to your profile if you can't show that you had to cancel due to exceptional circumstances.
Yakki will refund the entire amount paid to the guest, if you cancel a booking. Any unjustified and repeated cancellations will justify the possible decision to suspend or permanently close your host's account.
If the guest cancels a confirmed booking, reimbursement is calculated in line with the cancellation policy you have chosen for the experience booked. If you are entitled to a cancellation fee we will make the respective transfer to your bank account and you will be informed via email.
You can change your cancellation policy in the "Details" section of your experience. However, please be aware you will need to click on "Save Changes" for it to take effect, and the change will only affect future bookings. Any previous or on-going bookings will keep the cancellation policy which was in place at the time of the booking being made.
