The Ronza park, managed by the state-owned forest company, contains a forest nursery and extends along the state road 117 Enna - Piazza Armerina; it is one of the largest equipped areas in Sicily, capable of accommodating hundreds of people. The nursery is equipped with an environmental library and a herbarium
The park is very rich in various plants, especially endogenous eucalyptus, imported; this large territory was reforested with eucalyptus with the aim of starting a paper production industry, but only Australian eucalyptus trees, the "pure" ones, are suitable for producing quality paper so the project was abandoned.
La Ronza is one of the best equipped green areas in the Sicilian hinterland; the park has large spaces where the vegetation is less dense and the ground is flat, where sites suitable for picnics have been set up, equipped with dozens of outdoor barbecues and hundreds of tables with seats, rustic wooden benches, coffee tables , fountains, aviaries and enclosures where wild boars, fallow deer and porcupines graze
The park was reached and crossed entirely by the Dittaino-Piazza Armerina narrow-gauge railway, well integrated into the landscape and had a station right at the entrance to the park.
