The Brembane Pearls - Mount Avaro

This is my "terrace with a view", the place where I relax, my second home.
Our excursion starts at Olmo al Brembo, a small village that will be our starting line.
From there will begin the climb that will take us to the summit, passing through small mountain villages rich in history. One of these is Averara, which in medieval times, being the last town on the Via Mercatorum (ancient and very famous trade route), acted as both checkpoint and customs post.
We will then continue through Santa Brigida and finally, to Cusio, the last village before climbing the hairpin bends that will lead to Mount Avaro.
Once at the top we will enjoy a 360° view of the Orobie Prealps and the Brembana Valley. We will enjoy an excellent lunch in one of the local restaurants and then, after having rested well, we will venture downhill through woods, mule tracks and paths that from an altitude of 1650 m above sea level will take us to the starting point.
