Carè Alto 3.464m

Cima Carè Alto is the most alpinistic mountain of the whole southern part of the Adamello Group, with aerial crests and very steep faces on all sides. It is a climb of great alpine, historical and panoramic interest. The beauty of this great mountain, in addition to its isolated and dominant position, is also given by the great variety of its faces. Many sheds, walkways and even the wheel of a cable car under the summit bear witness to the Austrian siege during the White War.
The North-West Ridge (Via Normale) can be reached from the Niscli saddle and then crossing the vedretta. This ascent is not recommended in late season due to lack of snow, and it is preferable to climb the Cresta Est (Via Cerana), which is a little more difficult but much more direct and safe. For this itinerary, we ascend passing through the Bocchetta del Cannone. The most difficult part of the route is a 25 m 2nd grade wall to reach the ridge.
