For the New Year's Eve period, the Muzzerone Refuge, in collaboration with the Walkyourlife environmental guides, offers two days of trekking in the middle of nature between the mountains and the sea in the Portovenere Regional Park. To celebrate the new year together it will be possible to stay overnight at the Muzzerone refuge with dinner included.
Day 1:
Palamaria Island - ring excursion in the Regional Natural Park of Portovenere
Meeting point: At the refuge at 9:00 am for check-in or alternatively at the boatmen's pier at 9:45 am.
Length: approx. 6.5 km
Difference in height: +/- 250 m
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours
The excursion will take place in one of the many paths that surround the island Palmaria thanks to which we will make the round trip of the island. The main purpose besides enjoying the breathtaking views that will open at every turn will also be to learn about the various naturalistic, geological, historical, cultural and military aspects that characterize this island. After a packed lunch, follows the return to Portovenere for a quick visit to the village.
After that, we will go to the Refuge Muzzerone to spend the evening in the company waiting for the new year.
Dinner menu:
Appetizers: Cod fritters, salted cream puffs with salmon, artichoke pie, stuffed tomatoes (anchovies, capers, tuna), liver croutons.
First course: First course of fish according to the catch, Lasagne with scamorza radicchio and Pignone sausage.
Second course: Shrimps in a " guazzetto" sauce, Fish according to the catch
Sweet: Pandoro with zabaione cream.
Day 2:
Mount Muzzerone - the disused quarries of Portoro and its cliffs on the sea.
Meeting point: At the refuge at 9:30 am for check-out.
Length: approx. 6.5 km
Difference in height: +/- 400 m
Duration: approx. 6 hours
We will leave from the refuge to go and discover the disused quarries of the precious Portoro marble overlooking the sea. Then there is a circular excursion that will take us along one of the most panoramic paths in the area until we reach the village of Campiglia. Lunch will be packed and provided by the Muzzerone Refuge. Return Then back to the parking lot of the Refuge Muzzerone where you can decide whether to stop for the weekend or return home.
