Ferrata del Medale a Lecco

A demanding equipped route, with vertical and exposed sections.
Probably the most beautiful via ferrata in the area, it offers a " first row " view over the city of Lecco and is easily reached in about 30 minutes on foot starting from the village of Rancio Alta, where we park the car.
Technically, it is a route that even the most experienced can enjoy thanks to the good quality of the rock (as a whole). For the most demanding passages there are artificial supports for the feet ( clamps and plates ).
The total difference in height is about 600 m (400m the ferrata) and the descent is made along a comfortable path that starts on the left of the cross at the top of the Corno Medale and returns to the car in about 50 minutes.
It is generally not recommended during the summer because of the excessive heat (with some exceptions on cloudy days).
