An easy itinerary and suitable for everyone, even children!
A route full of history and nature to listen to and admire, among the most popular in Europe.
The old road, which historically connected Riva del Garda to Val di Ledro, cuts through the cliffs and reveals one of the most attractive landscapes of Upper Garda! The feeling is to walk along a long balcony suspended over the blue of the lake...
Route:
Below us the blue and green of the lush vegetation, above us high vertical walls that stand out in the blue sky ... The Ponale Road is closed to traffic of cars and motorcycles, and is a famous bike trail!
Along the way we will find numerous engineering works, some related to the construction of the road itself, others related to the ancient aqueduct of Riva del Garda. The most fascinating is the famous Tagliata del Ponale: a fortification work dating back to the Great War, on several levels connected by a long staircase dug into a tunnel ... in short, nature, history and many curiosities!
A pleasant stop at the small bar with terrace overlooking the lake, before crossing the river Ponale and face the last bends that lead to the panoramic point of Pregasina!
The return journey is scheduled for the same route.
