Day 1
Meeting with the guide in the early afternoon in Courmayeur. Departure by car or minibus to Planpincieux.
Planpincieux (1580 m) - Bonatti Hut (2025 m)
Difference in height uphill 450 m - Dinner and overnight stay in refuge.
The route starts parallel to the cross-country ski track to follow the snow-covered road that runs along the bottom of the valley. The breathtaking panorama, from our feet up to the sky, the snow covers everything without interruption with a verticality that leaves you breathless: over 3000 m in altitude separates us from the summit of Mont Blanc (4810 m). Near the houses of La Vachey we go into a sparse wood that accompanies us up near the shelter.
Day 2
Rifugio Bonatti (2025 m) - Malatrà valley (2300 m)
Difference in height 300 m.
After breakfast, a walk in the valley upstream of the Refuge awaits us: the great Malatrà valley that hosts in its entrance pastures still used in summer, overlooking the Grandes Jorasses - only (?!) 4200 m - half of this snowshoe hike before lunch. Return to lunch in the refuge.
In the early afternoon departure for the descent to Courmayeur.
