The total round trip at Cavalls del Vent lasts about 85 km and 5000 m altitude difference.
The park is a natural interest area in Catalonia, covering all ranges of foothills of Cadi and Moixeró. It straddles the counties of Berguedà, Alt Urgell and Cerdanya. It has an area of 41,342 ha. and is protected since 1983.
Its altitudes range from 900 m in the valleys and the highest peak of 2649, the Vulture. It is, therefore, a high mountain park.
Two great mountain ridges, El Cadí and El Moixeró meet at Coll de Tancalaporta and form an impressive mountain barrier where the main Pyrenean ridge meets the pre-Pyrenees.
