We start from Pinerolo to the Val Lemina and climb northwards up the Colle del Crò in order to reach the alpine hut Melano with substantially constant and medium-hard climbs, except for rare, more severe uphills, and then turn back south towards Pinerolo, with a nice single-track in the Bosco dell'Impero which will take us back to our starting point.
The original structure of the alpine hut was a metal container, later it was decided to build the new hut by reusing the structure of the Canada house, one of the support structures used during the Winter Olympics in Turin 2006.
Near the alpine hut there is the rock climbing gym of Rocca Sbarua, used since the dawn of mountaineering by fans of Turin and its surroundings. The cliff has over 100 climbing routes, ranging in length from 20 to 200 metres, with difficulties starting from 3+ and up to routes still to be freed for which we indicate 8th or higher.
On the path that leads to the alpine hut, the charcoal museum has been set up, in which the different phases of the ancient production of charcoal are reconstructed.
