The Alta Via del Granito offers everything you could wish for from a hike in the Eastern Alps: mixed forests of beech, fir and larch, alpine moors and bogs, lakes, streams, snowfields and impervious rocky ridges; all with exceptional views of the Dolomites!
The Alta Via del Granito is a splendid example of a circular high route: in three days of hiking through the porphyry of the Lagorai you can conquer the granite massif of Cima d'Asta, 2847 m above sea level.
It is the ideal trek to experience the life of the thru-hiker: we will carry everything we need in our backpacks, spend the night in a tent and cook outdoors!
Each stage of the Alta Via del Granito requires several hours of walking and is likely to take us a good part of the day. For this reason, as well as to limit the risk of running into thunderstorms in the afternoon, it is important to leave early in the morning.
We have therefore decided to set up the meeting on Thursday evening at a beautiful campsite 10 minutes by car from the starting point of the Alta Via del Granito: this way we will get to know each other, get to know the equipment provided and the tents, ready to leave the following day at a good time!
We will walk along the Alta Via del Granito clockwise, allowing ourselves the ascent to Cima d'Asta (2847 m above sea level) as the final cherry on top of our trek. The first night we will camp in a large meadow area crossed by numerous streams and surrounded by larch woods and vertical rock walls: an idyllic place.
The second night, on the other hand, will have a more mountaineering character, as we will be above 2200 meters above sea level and we will have to take advantage of the few flat grassy areas in a spectacular context of rocks and 360° views!
