Ski mountaineering in the Maira Valley means immersing yourself in one of the most wilderness valleys in the province of Cuneo.
Our base will be the splendid Relais Al Brieis located in the hamlet of Brieis in the Marmora valley. In this beautiful relais you will be pampered in beautiful rooms (double rooms with fireplace) with the possibility of turkish bath, sauna, salt cave.
The first day will begin with a briefing on the proper use of a.r.t.v.a. (avalanche beacon), probe and shovel and follow the climb to one of the peaks behind the farm (Costa Chiggia, Punta Tempesta, Cima Piovosa, ..... depending on the conditions of the snowpack). This valley is characterized by areas with vast pine forests that allow even in the middle of winter, when the risk of avalanches is high, to carry out routes of ski touring in safety.
The second day, after a rich breakfast, we will continue with the ski mountaineering tour of Rocca La Meja, a beautiful limestone peak of 3000 meters.
The third day will include the transfer to the springs of Maira to climb to the Colle dell'Enchiausa that divides the severe Monte Oronaye with the top of Autovallonasso, and then descend to the refuge of Viviere near Prato Rotondo where we can enjoy an excellent snack.
The whole program will last 3 days with 2 nights in the Relais Al Brieis. The price indicated is per person for a minimum of 3 people.
