Step after step: here is Arco from above
Would you like to test yourself and discover your skills to follow us in our long trekking?
In this trek you will be guided on a pleasant and never trivial path, with small and fun rocky stretches where you can improve your walking technique!
Mount Colodri is located right above Arco, at only 340 metres above sea level. We do not climb from the classic via ferrata, but we propose a pleasant and equally spectacular alternative! From above, along the ridge line towards Monte Colt, we can also understand the origin of the vertical walls of the Sarca Valley!
Route:
After passing through the historic centre of Arco, from the Collegiate Church we follow the characteristic stairway that leads to the Castle. The Olivaia di Arco, located on the slopes of the Rupe del Castello, accompanies us with its centuries-old history. We see the towers of the Castle of Arco and some parts of the ancient city wall, then we turn to the Church of S. Maria di Laghel. From here, the path (no. 431) enters a wood of holm oaks and leads us with rocky steps to Monte Colodri (340 m). Once we reach the summit, we are exactly above the historic climbing routes of Arco, where it all began in the impressive 80s. Together we will get to know some of the most important climbers on the international scene through their routes, to which their name will always be linked. The 360-degree view ranges from Lake Garda, to the Monte Baldo chain, to the Marocche di Dro.
After a short break, we continue north along the ridge that leads to Mount Colt (415 m). Plaques, karst rocks, grassy stretches, natural steps, screes and short exposed stretches. A perfect mix of terrain to learn how to feel at ease in any situation! Numerous pleasant return routes take us back to the centre of Arco and to our starting point!
