What is the “Selvaggio Blu”
It is known as the most beautiful trek of Europe, which it certainly is in comparison with other known treks. It is also renowned for being difficult due to its orientation and its technical features.
It takes place on a stretch of coast in the Supramonte of Baunei which for about one hundred kilometers remains intact and completely uncontaminated. Here you always get the feeling of being the first to cross these beautiful places. It is exactly this aspect that makes the Selvaggio Blue such a unique trek.
Seven days of real adventure!
The story:
The trek was “born” in the 80s thanks to the ingenious idea of Mario Verin, Peppino Cicalò, together they thought about linking the trails used by shepherds with other paths of the network of donkey tracks used by the eighteenth-century coal miners, which were left for long periods on this fantastic but inaccessible and wild stretch of coast land. The remains of the ancient coal mines and the "iscalas fustes", built by the shepherds to enable the goats to pass on otherwise unsurpassable trails, can still be found.
The original route starts at Pedra Longa and finishes at Cala Sisine, passing the most beautiful beaches of this area including Cala Goloritze, Cala Mariolu, Cala Biriola, characterized by an uncontaminated environment.
