THE FUCECCHIO MARSH
A naturalistic oasis without equal. Tour suitable for everyone to discover one of the last wetlands of Europe that is located exactly between the art cities of Florence and Pisa in high Tuscany. In this vast area various types of birds are settled and many others come to winter, being an ideal climate in the cold months. Starting from the small town of Chiesina Uzzanese passing along rivers, dirt roads and very little asphalt we immerse ourselves in the nature of this place. In this journey we will cross the evidence of the distant past with pieces of history that lead back to the times of the Francigena road and of a recent past with the work structures of our grandparents, all surrounded by unspoiled nature.
IL PADULE DI FUCECCHIO
Un'oasi naturalistica senza eguali. Escursione adatta a tutti alla scoperta di una delle ultime aree umide d'europa che si trova esattamente tra le città d'arte di Firenze e Pisa nell'alta Toscana. In questa vasta area sono stanziali vari tipi di uccelli e molti altri vengono a svernare essendo un clima ideale nei mesi freddi. Partendo dal piccolo centro abitato di Chiesina Uzzanese passando lungo fiumi, strade sterrate e pochissimo asfalto ci immergiamo nella natura di questo luogo. In questo percorso incroceremo le testimonianze del lontano passato con pezzi di storia che riconducono fino ai tempi della strada Francigena, di un passato recente con le strutture di lavoro dei nostri nonni il tutto immerso in una natura incontaminata.
