Via ferrata of Monte Procinto (Apuan Alps)

The via ferrata on Mount Procinto, in the heart of the Apuan Alps, is a spectacular route and suitable for those who have no experience with via ferrata.
From the summit, at more than 1000 meters of altitude, you can enjoy a panorama of extraordinary beauty, overlooking the Southern Apuan Alps and the sea of Versilia.
The route is easy and does not present technical passages of particular commitment. However, some points are particularly exposed.
We will meet in Camaiore, in the province of Lucca, and from there we will move by car to the village of Stazzema. At this point, the actual activity will begin.
In about an hour's walk in the woods, we will arrive at the beautiful "Rifugio Forte dei Marmi". From here, after another 20 minutes of walk, we will reach the starting point of the via ferrata. We will make a quick briefing on the activity, the guide will help us to put on the equipment and will explain to us the correct behaviour to keep during the ascent.
The route runs quite directly along the rock wall, covering a difference in altitude of about 150 meters. The activity lasts 6 hours in total, of which about 3 will be used to climb up and down the via ferrata.
Once we reach the summit of Monte Procinto, we will descend along the same route. Before returning to the cars we will take a break to refresh ourselves: it will be possible to bring a light packed lunch or eat at the Refuge "Forte dei Marmi".
