We will follow the ancient Appia from Porta San Sebastiano for about 8 km, until the intersection with Via di Torricola.
The Via Appia Antica is a road with reduced traffic (and almost completely closed to traffic on Sundays). It represents an itinerary full of charm and history. In fact, you ride for long stretches in a very special atmosphere, between ancient funerary monuments and beautiful pine trees immersed in the Roman countryside, and in some places it is easy to think of being back in time. What's more, the Appia Antica is easy to divert to the beautiful park of Caffarella, a vast natural area that it is hard to believe it can be in the middle of Rome
