The Sassolungo, with its 3,181 m is one of the symbol icons of Val Gardena. With its majesty, every year attracts the attention of many hikers who are fascinated by its different landscapes.
The meeting point of this fantastic tour is Piazza Nives (Selva di Val Gardena) from here, by public transport, in 15 minutes you reach the Sella Pass, the true starting point of the excursion; in a few minutes, thanks to the Sassolungo cable gondola you will reach the forcella of Sassolungo, one of the most panoramic points of the tour. From the top of the forcella you start to descend towards the Rif. Vicenza in the middle of a natural rock amphitheater, perfect stop to enjoy excellent South Tyrolean specialties.
After lunch, continue through the path n. 526 , for ending the loop tour around the Sassolungo at Sella Pass.
ESCURSIONE DEL SASSOLUNGO, IL SIMBOLO DELLA VAL GARDENA
Il Sassolungo, con i suoi 3.181 m è una delle cime simbolo della Val Gardena. Con la sua maestosità, ogni anno attira l'attenzione di moltissimi escursionisti i quali ne rimangono affascinati dai suoi diversi panorami.
Il punto di ritrovo di questo fantastico tour è Piazza Nives
( Selva di Val Gardena ) da quì, tramite mezzi pubblici, in 15 min si raggiunge il Passo Sella, punto di partenza vero e proprio dell'escursione ; in pochi minuti, grazie alla cabinovia si raggiunge la forcella del Sassolungo , uno dei punti più panoramici del tour. Dalla cima della forcella si inizia a scendere verso il Rif. Vicenza situato al centro di un anfiteatro naturale di roccia , sosta perfetta per gustare ottime specialità Altoatesine.
Terminato il pranzo, si prosegue tramite il sentiero n. 526 alla volta del Passo Sella, terminando così il tour ad anello attorno al Sassolungo.
