The fortresses at high altitude in Val Susa

Hi,
With this ring experience, I would like to introduce you to and share the fortresses that we still have in the upper Susa Valley.
Starting from an altitude of 1900 m we reach an altitude of 2775 m.
Going along forest paths, military roads and single track, we will visit 2 Forts to defend the valley and 1 barracks/magazine. (Foens, Jafferau)
The almost 900 m of difference in altitude, have an average gradient of 10%, all bikeable, with sections in the shade and in the middle of pine forest for the first stretch, and in the sun for the remaining stretch, we will pass from one valley to another with breathtaking views of the entrance to the upper Susa Valley. We will visit the ruins of the Fortresses, and we will see from afar the famous Saracen Gallery.
When we are almost arrived at the Jafferau Fortress, (the highest point of the experience) we will have a wonderful view of the Val Fredda.
Once at the top we will stop for a lunch break and various photos. Ready to go, we will start the descent, on a service road of the ski lifts, we will also use the same ski slopes, to be able to approach a refuge where we can enjoy a cool beer and exchange photos and opinions about the experience. The experience doesn't end yet, because to get to the cars we still have 1 km of level on beaten road.
