Climbing Monte Perdido 3.355 m - Ordesa

In the rocky heart of Ordesa National Park, the top of Monte Perdido rises over the rest of the limestone massif as its highest summit. The mountain is one of the classic ascents of Spanish mountaineering. The route goes through the impressive glacier canyon of Ordesa and reaches Góriz Mountain Hut (2.200 m high), where we pass one night in a beautiful location. We follow the normal route to the summit. Eventually, if the group has the right skills and experience, we could climb over the "alternative" normal route, where some scrambling is needed. However, the normal ascent is just a hike up, with a high alpine character. The snow covers the mountain from November to June (depending on the season), and some snow patches remain till the end of July, therefore, summer is the best period for this hike, but autumn and late spring is also a good time (and much quiet!). We try to follow a round route, to pass through the different sceneries of this beautiful National Park.
