Ferrata Simone Contessi al Monte Duemani

The Via Ferrata Contessi at Monte Due Mani is a demanding equipped route with some short, difficult stretches, which can sometimes be circumvented along the path that runs alongside it.
It is characterized by a sequence of small walls linked by short stretches of path, located in a wild environment, ideal habitat for chamois easily seen.
The attack is located 5 minutes from the car that we park along the road to Morterone, at a small clearing located after 6 hairpin bends from the short tunnel.
Rising along the via ferrata we will discover a breathtaking view of the Grigne, the Resegone and all the mountains of the Lecco basin, including the lake.
Once we have reached the end of the chains, it is certainly worth continuing along the comfortable ridge path, surrounded by beautiful green meadows up to the peak of the Due Mani.
In the first part of the descent we go back along the ridge path, up to the last chain of the via ferrata. From here, we follow the path (sometimes narrow and steep) until we reach the car.
Starting point: road leading to Morterone from Ballabio in the province of Lecco.
Height at the beginning of the path: 840 m
Height of ferrata start: 890 m
Height of ferrata end: 1300 m
Walking time: about 1 hour only for the via ferrata, + another 40 minutes for the summit of Duemani. 90 min for the descent.
