Queen of the Dolomites. With the Punta Penia (3343 m) the Marmolada is the highest mountain of the Dolomites, a worldwide unique massif between Veneto and Trento, which was declared UNESCO Natural Heritage in 2009. The varied normal route or the technically more demanding crossing offer a day-long adventure in the heart of the Dolomites. The perfect combination between a high tour and a via ferrata.
The crossing takes us from the Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi (2626 m) to the Marmolada pass and over the West ridge (via ferrata B) to the summit. The descent is always along the normal path.
- West ridge: moderately difficult via ferrata category B. approx. 900 hm - 3½ hrs.
- Normal route: moderately difficult high route with short via ferrata. approx. 720hm - 2½ hrs.
