From the green willows of the Oberiß-Almen at the end of the Oberbergtal valley behind Neustift we start in serpentines about 1.5 hours up to the Franz-Senn-Hütte. Already on the way, we marvel at the glacier cuts from the ice ages and the flower splendour of the mountain slopes. Arrived at the hut we have a short rest.
We put our rucksack on our backs and continue for another 2 hours over mountain meadows to glacier height. While hiking in the mountains you can discover the impressive mountain world again and again from different perspectives.
We make ourselves comfortable on the large stones around the Rinnensee, perhaps walking with our feet into the cool water for refreshment.
While the snack we have brought with us is being eaten, we can see the magnificent panorama of peaks and glaciers at close range.
On the way back we stay for another hour at the Franz-Senn-Hütte before we return to the valley.
Height difference of about 900 m.
